Hyde Town Hall is extremelly large, and during the night, you will gain access to many rooms, including the Victorian police cells, court areas, changing rooms, the ballroom area and the dreaded Great War Memorial.
Stones have been thrown and object moved with no help from anything around, giving rise to the idea of poltergeists.
Built in 1885 by J. W. Beaumont, this building has always been shrouded in an air of mystery. Many recordings have been noted here, so much so, that many of the workers here have grown used to them.
Among the mysteries enveloping this building is the Great War memorial, a grand five-panelled oak wall mount, which has three names missing, with no real reason for this. Could the activity of the building be the ghosts of those soldiers, demanding their name be added?
Spooky Happenings feels this is a building of very high activity, and find that everyone who goes is always confused by what they have seen or felt, even frightening the most hardened of sceptics.
A buffet and warm drinks are available before beginning the tour, and will also be available all night in the 'base room'. You are also quite welcome to bring your own refreshments.
